The digital driving licence is officially approved and has the same legal effect as the paper one. It’s easy to use and can be shown at any time and any place. You can apply for it by downloading the official app.
E-License Applying Instructions
1. The electronic version of the motor vehicle driver's license has the same legal effect as the paper version.
2. If the driver's license is in a normal state, or in a state with unhandled violations or unsettled accidents, an application for an electronic driver's license can be made normally.
3. If the driver's license is impounded, temporarily withheld, expired without renewal, overdue without inspection, has 12 points deducted, or has been announced as invalid for use in accordance with the law, making it unable to be used normally, an application for an electronic driver's license cannot be made. The applicant must first resolve the abnormal situation before applying for it.
4. For those who have already applied for an electronic driver's license but need to undergo a license replacement procedure due to changes in the permitted vehicle types, validity period of the driver's license, or issuing authority, the applicant needs to reapply for an electronic driver's license.
Application process
Application process:
1. Scan the QR code to download the "Traffic Management12123" App.
2. Click on the sign-in icon,then click the first column of ID types.
3. Select "F" (ID certifications for overseas people) of ID types,then select the 3rd option of "F".
4. Enter the passport number 、Chinese namefrom the translated page and your phone number.
5. Select the city of Wuhan from the drop down box.
6. Set your password of 6-16 characters using a combination of letters and numbers and confirm your password.Tick the terms and conditions box,then click on the continue icon.
7. Enter the verification code from the message.Tick the terms and conditions box，then click on the start icon and position your device to complete facial recognition.
8. Enter the verification code and click on the submit icon. Upload the original passport page that dispalys your photo and the passport number and the translated version.Click on the submit icon finally.
9. After passing the review, log in to the APP and click the "Electronic Documents and Certificates" option at the top.
10. After finding the electronic driver's license, click to apply for it.
11. When applying for the electronic version of the driver's license for the first time, the system will directly use the photo already stored in the information system to generate it, and you can choose to replace the photo after the application is successful.
12. After submission, just wait for the application result.
Friendly reminder:
For those applying for an electronic driver's license for the first time, the system will retrieve the driver's ID card photo as the electronic driver's license photo. After the electronic driver's license is generated, you can voluntarily choose whether to change the photo.
For those who do not have a stored photo, the "Traffic Management 12123" mobile APP will prompt the applicant to submit an electronic photo by taking a photo with their mobile phone or selecting one from their photo album. After review by the traffic management department of the public security organ, it will be used to generate the electronic driver's license.
