1. Who is eligible to shop at the downtown duty-free store?
Customers who plan to depart via air or international cruise within 60 days (including the day of departure). Eligible travelers include, but are not limited to, Chinese citizens.
2. What documents are required for shopping?
Shoppers must present valid entry/exit documents (e.g., passport, Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents, Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents) and a confirmed outbound flight/cruise ticket.
3. What taxes are exempted?
Imported goods at downtown duty-free stores are exempt from tariffs, import value-added tax (VAT), and consumption tax. Domestic products sold in these stores are treated as exports, eligible for VAT and consumption tax refunds, and exempt from domestic VAT/consumption tax.
4. Is there a spending limit?
No spending limit applies, but purchases must comply with customs regulations: goods must be for personal use and in reasonable quantities. Items re-entered into China after purchase will be subject to import duties as per customs rules.
5. What products are available?
The store offers portable goods such as food, apparel, bags, footwear, baby products, jewelry, crafts, electronics, fragrances, cosmetics, and alcohol. It encourages sales of domestic trendy brands that promote Chinese cultural heritage.
6. Where to collect purchases?
Follow the "buy in-store, pick up at customs" model. Eligible travelers can shop at the store and collect purchases at customs supervision areas in departure terminals before boarding.
