As the highlight of Wuhan's annual July 16 Yangtze River Crossing Festival, the registration for this year's Mass Squad Crossing of the Yangtze River officially commenced on the 26th. We sincerely invite swimming enthusiasts to sign up and experience the heroic spirit of thousands of participants competing to cross the mighty Yangtze River together.

Route and swimming distance
The crossing route for the squad will start from the Hanyangmen Gate in Wuchang (participants enter the water here) and conclude at Sanyang Square on Hankou Riverside Promenade (participants emerge from the water here), spanning a swimming distance of approximately 6,000 meters.
Activity format and scale
The squads crossed the Yangtze River in a formation, with a total of approximately 2,400 participants. Each squad, composed of 80 members, included flag bearers and lead guides.
Registration requirements
1. Participant Requirements
All applicants must be swimming enthusiasts residing in Wuhan (both domestic and international). Online registration is available for the Wuhan Crossing Squad and Youth Crossing Squad.
2. Age Requirements
For the Wuhan Crossing Squad: Participants must be swimming enthusiasts aged 14-65 (born between July 16, 1960 and July 16, 2011). Individuals aged over 65 (including representatives from partner organizations, sponsor companies, model workers, etc.) will be invited by the Organizing Committee through targeted selection.
For the Youth Crossing Squad: Participants must be swimming enthusiasts aged 14-35 (born between July 16, 1990 and July 16, 2011).
Registration Method
1. The online public registration period is from 10:00 AM on April 26, 2025 (Saturday) to 5:00 PM on May 2, 2025 (Friday).
2. Applicants for the Wuhan Crossing Squad and Youth Crossing Squad must complete online registration individually.After participating in the qualification test and lottery draw, each squad will admit a maximum of 80 participants (including flag bearers and lead guides).
3. Search for the WeChat Mini Program "汉运动" (Han Sports) via mobile phone. Complete real-name verification and access the "武汉7·16渡江节报名通道" (Wuhan 7·16 Yangtze River Crossing Festival Registration Channel) section on the homepage. Select either "方队横渡" (Squad Crossing) or "青春渡" (Youth Crossing) to proceed with registration.Fill in all required personal information: full name, gender, valid ID number, mobile number, date of birth, and other relevant details.Read and accept the "武汉7·16渡江节参赛免责声明" (Wuhan 7·16 Yangtze River Crossing Festival Liability Waiver), then submit the application to complete registration.

Testing method
1. All applicants for the Wuhan Crossing Squad and Youth Crossing Squad must participate in the qualification test organized by the Organizing Committee. Insurance coverage will be provided for all test participants.Specific test time, venue, and requirements will be notified separately.
2. Athlete verification during test check-in will strictly compare participants' appearance, gender, and ID information.Impersonation or proxy testing is strictly prohibited (facial recognition technology will be used for check-in procedures).
3. Participants must bring their original second-generation ID card or passport when attending the qualification test.They must also sign the paper version of the "Wuhan 7·16 Yangtze River Crossing Festival Liability Waiver" on-site and submit a qualified medical examination report (issued within the last 3 months by a Grade II Class A or higher hospital) including electrocardiogram (ECG) and blood pressure results.Athletes aged 14-18 (excluding 18) must be accompanied by a legal guardian with original ID and household register.
4. Blood pressure readings in medical reports must be within 140/90mmHg to be considered qualified.The medical report must include a passport-style photo of the participant, with both the ECG report and photo affixed with the examining hospital's official seal.
5. Participants who fail to provide the required documents, submit incomplete materials, present expired reports, or are deemed medically unfit by on-site medical professionals will be disqualified from the test.
6. Participants must provide their own goggles, swim caps, and swimsuits for the qualification test.Failure to wear these required swimming equipment will result in disqualification from participating in the test.he use of performance-enhancing aids such as flippers is strictly prohibited.
Admission Method
1.Applicants for the Wuhan Crossing Squad must complete a 400-meter breaststroke crossing test within 10 minutes to qualify. Final selection will be determined through a lottery system.
2.Applicants for the Youth Crossing Squad must complete the 400-meter breaststroke test within 8 minutes to qualify. Successful candidates will be selected based on performance ranking. Those with times exceeding 8 minutes but under 10 minutes will remain eligible for the Wuhan Crossing Squad lottery.
3.The list of successful applicants for the Wuhan Crossing Squad and Youth Crossing Squad will be published within one week after the conclusion of qualification tests.
4.The total number of athletes selected will be determined based on the actual number of confirmed crossing squads.
