The event will bring together international organizations, tourism authorities from various countries, industry leaders, and experts to explore the symbiotic path between ecological protection and tourism development, and share sustainable development experiences from world heritage sites.
The International Mountain Tourism Day was established by the International Mountain Tourism Alliance in 2018, marking the date of the first successful ascent of Mount Everest on May 29, 1953.
Over the past seven years, the event has been held in China, Nepal, Laos, France, Spain and other countries. It has become the most well-known and influential institutional brand of the International Mountain Tourism Alliance, serving as a shared platform for the global mountain tourism industry.
Shennongjia is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its pristine natural environment and rich biodiversity. By hosting this event, Hubei aims to build a high-end global dialogue platform for mountain tourism, promote the protection and utilization of world heritage sites, and share China's practices and wisdom in achieving harmony between humans and nature.
